Photo shot February 18, 2010
Model: Julia Elizabeth
I had first worked with Julia at my annual pool party (2008). At the time, she was one of the few models that offered a fashion appeal and I was instantly drawn to her. We didn’t get to shoot as much as I would have liked but when we returned I recommended her to one of my clients who immediately picked her up. Luckily for me, I would continue to shoot her for catalogues throughout 2009. We didn’t get a chance to work together in a creative capacity until 2010. She had asked me to shoot a friend of hers and I only agreed if she would come along and model as well.
I had been working at building a collection of dramatically lit black and whites, and thought she’d be an awesome candidate for this.

I knew the images would look good but even I was surprised by the sheer number of successful images. I find with most sets, there are only a few dozen images I am satisfied with, but in this case I have about 40 of 100 images I could have been equally satisfied with.
Needless to say my black and white collection just stepped it up a notch.
