I lost my job – That’s kinda new.

As many of you are aware Canusa the  company that ran Oxygen, MuscleMag, Clean Eating and various other titles filed for bankruptcy over a month ago. While they were in fact my biggest client, they weren’t my only source of income. I have been lucky to meet great inspirational people throughout my career. People that have motivated me, inspired me, and pushed me to bigger things.

I will never stop taking pictures. It’s in my blood, it feeds my soul both artistically but more importantly how it impacts others. Everyone I work with is always so appreciative, it leaves me feeling a bit awkward actually.

But aside from photography, I’ve launched the overXXXposed T-Shirt line, evolved from the overXXXposed shows. If you haven’t been to a show, let me tell you, they’re unlike anything you’ve ever seen. With the help of Jacqueline Megaw we launched SESSIONS Magazine and ANDIVERO Magazine both of which I’m tremendously proud of and both have started to show promise for success. I opened SESSIONS Studios for photographers to have an inexpensive place to shoot with free parking and wifi. I’ve been throwing two wonderful Pool Parties per year; One in Las Vegas in the spring and the other in the Caribbean in winter.

The latest project Shooting Skin, a reality based web program around the studio, has been a fun project with a huge learning curve. We are not directors, producers, filmmakers or have any experience at it. We simply came up with the idea and ran with it. I have some pretty great expectations for it down the road. As the expression goes, “Stay Tuned”.

Oh yeah, and I’m launching a new fitness mag called STRONG Fitness Magazine. Should be spectacular – My favourite venture ever. You can see more about that here.

Every day the studio is a flurry of activity, be it shoots or other projects.

Still, I can’t help feeling a bit down at the loss of working for all those magazines. Sure, I’ve received plenty of offers from other magazines, but somehow it’s not the same. I put a lot of effort to help develop the Oxygen brand and it feels like a part of me went with it. Not just that but it no longer being on newsstands is also sad to me.

So now I have to focus more on juggling everything else I’ve been working on.

The hardest part for me is I have never been very good at multi-tasking. I find I make too many mistakes when I try. I need to focus on one thing at a time.

How do you multi-task? I could use some suggestions.
