An On-Line Journal

2003 09 03 - And the Oscar goes to...

I was thinking the other day about what it would be like to be famous.
In a conversation I had with a publicist from LA I had mentioned that I had wanted to become famous to which he always responded, "No you don't".
He didn't just say it once or twice but a few times.

The longer I think about it, the more I am convinced that he's right.

Do I really need my hand prints on Hollywood Blvd?
Do I really want all the attention from the paparazzi?
Do I really want to be the flavor of the week for the tabloids?
Do I really want to live so sheltered?

I think the whole concept of becoming famous has taken a back seat on my list of priorities.

In the meantime, I'm going to work on learning something new.
I haven't decided exactly what I'll be focusing on just yet but rest assured it will have to do with technology.

Right now, I'm taking pride in a recent picture I received from my foster child in Peru.
If I had more money, I would fly down to meet the little guy and bring him some clothes, toys and other things for his family.

Enough reflecting and soul searching for today.

I'm off to meet my agent for a frappuccino with a lemon twist followed by an appointment with my manicurist.
