2004 02 24 - Shooting the Fashion Shoot

I was fortunate enough to be invited to shoot a fashion shoot.
Shoot a fashion shoot you ask?

Yes, shoot a fashion shoot.

My friend Ashifa was asked to shoot a designer's line for his portfolio.
I was invited along to videotape the process.

Secretly, I almost prefer to videotape these types of events than to photograph them.
Somehow there is much less pressure on the video man.

3:00pm: I arrive at the bar a bit early and started setting up my stuff.
3:15pm: I have my first beer. (Where is everyone?)
3:30pm: Ashifa, the models, hair-stylists, make-up artists and designer arrive.
3:35pm: Introductions.
3:45pm : Second beer
4:00pm: Models start getting 'made up'. I shoot some behind the scenes stuff.

4:05pm: Third beer
4:30pm: Fourth beer.
5:45pm: Models begin getting into their garments.
6:00pm: Fifth beer.
6:15pm: The first photoshoot of night begins. (I shoot more behind the scenes).
7:00pm: We finish the first of three outfits for each model.
7:15pm: Order pizza and more beer.

From here you can kinda guess how long the evening was going to run on

I didn't get home until about 2:30am.

On the bright side, now I'll be able to both show more videos on my site as well as some pictures.
(What... me leave my camera behind)

Stay tuned more pics and video coming soon.
