Paul Buceta stars in Chukchansi Gold Casino commercial.

One of the things I was told when I entered this line of work is how much I would be sitting around waiting to shoot. I guess I never really paid much attention to it but am now understanding the reality of it.

Lets see, I got here at 10:30 am, (Alright not too early). It's now 2:30pm and I have yet to shoot a single scene... What luck! As I was typing that last line I was just called in to start shooting. I'm going to put the laptop on standby and finish this up in between shoots...

Alright, I'm back, now sporting a slightly oversized yellow shirt (wardrobe).
I took advantage of my spare time this morning to meet some of the people who were going to be in the commercial.
The first person I met was Lisa.

Paul and Lisa Giordano-Hoehn

I hate using the, "You look familiar" line but I had to when I saw her. You see, I had first seen Lisa at an audition for my last commercial. Although we didn't speak at the audition, I'm not in the habit of forgetting the ladies.

Continuing to make my rounds, the next people I met were Alexandra and Jen.

Alejandra (left) was a charming woman from Mexico and as I found out was soon to be my Blackjack dealer for this commercial.

Jennifer (right) had just finished shooting a beer commercial that I had just seen for the first time the day before. I'm going to try to get a copy of it for the site.
And here it is!

I was walking around the set when approached and asked if I was Paul Buceta.

Aunt Mae and me

Now, you might think that I get that all the time but I'm sad to report I don't.
Anyhow, being asked if I'm Paul Buceta certainly got my attention. She then asked if I knew a girl named Cheri?

My jaw dropped to the floor as I immediately recalled who she was.
Aunt Mae!

Let me back track for a moment.
In my high school days I was best friends with a girl named Cheri. We would hang out, listen to music, go out to dinner with mutual friends and just plain gossip as teenagers are wont to do. In fact we were so close that I had Christmas dinner at her house with her family and Aunt Mae.
As time wore on however, Cheri and I lost touch and haven't seen each other for about 12 years. So you can imagine what a blast from the past this was.

But wait, it gets better.

As it turns out Mae is to be the singer that I share my role with in the commercial. And as I just found out, we're going to be the male and female leads!
Talk about a small and lucky world.

I have to run right now, I've just been called to set.

Well that was pretty cool.
I just got out from 'blocking'. This is where all the actors and extras go through the scenes so that the director, camera operators and other can see what needs to be adjusted.

While doing this I was told that I was the 'Hero', which means, in this case, the lead.
I suppose that using this same logic everyone sitting at my blackjack table were sitting at the 'hero' table. (A reference which we all found quite funny)

Meet the Hero table.

Yvonne, me, Bill and Peter

To the far right is Peter Yeung. I feel kind of bad for Peter because the shoot's running late and people were waiting for him at home for his birthday party - oops.

Next up is Bill Chambers. Bill has one of those deep resounding voices that's sure to be a hit for voice work. A fun guy that actually made me laugh during shooting because he was laughing at me.

Yvonne Shapira and me

And last but not least is Yvonne Shapira. She was sitting next to me at the blackjack table and in talking with her was taken almost instantly by her poise, elegance and charm. Yvonne has been quite successful in this industry and I can see why. I look forward to working with her again.

That's going to be a wrap for now as I've been called back to shoot in five.
That's 'acting lingo' for five minutes.
