An On-Line Journal

2004 08 10 - Paul Buceta All Over The Place

Today started out pretty simple.
I had one audition call back and a late lunch meeting with Ashifa.
Not too complicated right - Well not for me.

Things were going pretty smooth until I got to the audition. The place casting the auditions was a bit behind and I knew right off that I was going to be late to meet Ashifa - Damn, I hate being late for anything.

On the bright side of things running behind, I got to hang out with an actress Nicole whom I had auditioned with last week.
The commercial called for us to toss remote controls at each other in an effort to get the TV going. Basically Nicole was my 'girlfriend' for the day - SWEET.

However, I'm not sure Nicole liked having me play her boyfriend.
Now, I know what you all must be thinking, "What, not want to be Paul Buceta's girlfriend - Women would kill for the chance!"
And you're right <GRIN> however, I think she wanted to be cast with some other actor she was chatting with. Anyhow, as a group we were told not to leave after the audition as they were going to mix up the couples to check out chemistry.

Upon hearing this I say to an actor close by, "Pssst dude, your girlfriend looks hot, wanna swap for a bit?"

At this point everyone went quiet and stared at me like I was a leper or something.
I couldn't believe it. I thought it was the funniest thing I'd said all week. Still it didn't stop me from chuckling to myself.

Perhaps this is why my 'actress girlfriend' wasn't digging my scene.
I can't help laugh at the thought of her reading this and shaking her head - I did, after all, give her my card, as well as the 'dude' with the hot girlfriend.

Moving along. we get called in after three couples before us, we do our thing and head back out to the waiting area.
Not two minutes later, an employee of the casting house comes out to announce that Paul and Nicole are free to leave now.

Paul Buceta was just shown the door.

Oh well, it might be the first time but I'm pretty sure it won't be the last ... errrr wait a sec, that didn't quite work right.

Anyhow, I'm already 45 minutes late for my meeting with Ashifa.
I don't want to write off the whole day so I run to my car and make my way over.
I had never been to Ashifa's place before and was totally devastated by the hour it took to get there. I guess sitting quietly in my car for an hour going over how I bombed at the audition was not the best idea.

So I get to Ashifa's and she has this nice warm apple pie baked for me. I could get used to this, perhaps the drive wasn't that long after all. We go over a bunch of ideas for our sites and plan a collaborative effort between ourselves and a few others.
(More on this to come later)

Changing the subject for a second. Did I mention I like to gamble on-line?
Well then I'll just have to keep that story for a later date.

Back to the story;
We chatted about technologies and I showed her a few things I had picked up along the way. One of the things was my cell phone/camera. She hated the pics I had taken with it for my journal because of the poor image quality.

Poor image quality my ass!
This prompted me to take a pic of her with it,

Errr.... sorry Ashifa. You're right. This phone takes lousy pictures.
I did bring a better camera along but by the time I got it out to make up for the cell image she was all,
"That was sooooo five minutes ago".

Talk to the hand.

And that's it. There's more to the story but I'm getting tired.

I'm sure she's going to have a lot more to say about my visit today as she too took out her camera and got some nice pics of me being ... well, me.

The drive home lasted longer than an hour. I had to stop at a McDonald's for an apple pie.
Some habbits are hard to shake.
