An On-Line Journal
by Paul Buceta

2006 04 19 - American Idol + UMM + Paul Buceta=weeeeeeee

So were do I begin. Some time has passed and a lot has happened over the last little while.

A couple of weeks ago I received a call from UMM Magazine asking if I'd be interested in shooting a model.

"HELL YA!" was my immediate response.

I always act and speak before thinking. I guess based on this journal I also write before thinking but I digress.

Many times, when I speak without thinking I get burned (so much for 'digressing').
But this, was not one of those times.

The person I was asked to shoot was non other that American Idol finalist Sarah Mather.
I was like 'woo hoo' and shit even though I never watched the show.
Not that I dislike the show or anything, it's got a Simon and Paula but I find it's seriously laking a Paul Buceta.
Did you see that one coming?

Anyhow, they flew her up from New York for our shoot.
When a magazine flies a model up to me it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I feel like I should buy leather pants, a poet shirt and act all 'photographer' like.
*** My apologies to photographers that wear leather pants and poet shirts. ***

Admittedly, I was a bit nervous.
I know, I know... you're thinking to yourself, "What... Paul Buceta nervous? That can't be."
But it's true - I was.
I mean she was coming up along with her Grammy nominated producer Ernie Lake.
I love to drop names - I'm a whore like that.

What can I say other than she was an absolute delight to work with and to be around.
Not only that, but she also made an awesome model. Seriously, if she decided to quit her music career to pursue modeling, I think she'd do remarkably well.

Not only was our shoot a huge success; she loved the pictures and UMM loved the pics,
but I also got a chance to sing a couple of lines to Ernie Lake....

He told me he'd call me.

Her pictorial will be coming out on news stands in June so be sure to keep a look out for it.
For now check out Sarah's site at
Tell her Paul sent ya.
